Quick Sync Support ?
« on: March 18, 2012, 04:51:05 PM »
Hi all,

Using Avidemux for a long time now, since i've moved to a new 2600K i'm looking for informations about the support of Quick sync in avidemux, i've seent some benchmark / quality tests done with Mediaconverter 2.7 and they seems very good. The quality is a little under a "software" optimised solution but it is FAR faster.
I've read that it seems possible to only use the motion estimation (example) of the HD3000 and not doing the full encoding with it... So i suppose, mistake ?, that Avidemux would benefit a good speed increase with the help of Quicksync, achieving the same quality has it does actually.
I've time and would like to join people if this is an under development evolution of Avidemux.

Thanks,

One Intel developer promised QuickSync support to libav. If that happens, then AVIdemux can also support it.
I am away between 15th of May - 15th of June. (yes, I am playing D3)

Thanks for your reply, i've searched on the libav website and found no information about Quick Sync, email sent to see if someone already started this project.
