Developing an online application

I would like to develop an online application to allow parents to edit videos of their children.  They can then avoid buying expensive software or having to download Avidemux.  Has anyone tried to develop such an app from the SDK?

The SDK is meant to be used to write plugins, not really not write your own app
It is possible, but would require a significant amount of work
A could starting point would be avidemux 2.6 cli version
