Weird colours after horisontal flip in Virtualdub
« on: August 08, 2012, 10:46:23 AM »
I have a telecined avi video captured by Virtualdub (it seems in RGB888 format). I used Virtualdub to do the vertical flip and saved as avi - same format. I also extracted BMP files and created a new video from the individual BMP-files using Virtualdub. When I open these videos in  Avidemux I just see green stripes and some shadows of the picture. What is wrong? Does it have something to do with the audio channel? I do not need audio so can be removed.

I found the answer. I saved the video in YUV and it worked OK. It seems that Avidemux can not use RGB88 colour scheme.

Thanks for sharing this.
Some other formats are not handled by avidemux either, most of these are proprietary designed video codec.
